To Maui, North Molokai and Oahu

The sunset while anchored off Waikiki

Sunrise over Molokai.

This was an excellent trip to Maui.  I left on Wednesday January 5, 2011 in the late afternoon to anchor off Waikiki and spend the night.  After making dinner I sat on deck with a glass of white wine and watched the sunset.  It was a beautiful evening with light wind out of the southwest.  This was unusual in Hawaii as we normally get the winds from the northeast.  However, this was excellent for running down wind to Molokai and Maui.  Later, before retiring for the night, I turned on the VHF and listened to the weather.  The forecast was for the trade winds to begin Saturday.  What luck.  This could end up being a great sail.  All down wind.
